Dr Sahota is employed as a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist in the NHS and he has a consultant role at Psymplicity Healthcare. He has a leadership and management position in the NHS.
Dr Sahota has a Medical Degree from the University of Birmingham and is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Dr Sahota has completed a Masters Research Degree in Clinical Psychiatry at the University of Nottingham, and he has published research on outcomes in forensic psychiatry.
Dr Sahota has practiced for over 9 years as a consultant in the NHS, specialising in forensic psychiatry. He has worked in psychiatry for over 17 years and specialises in the assessment and management of a range of mental disorders including depression, psychosis, personality disorder, ADHD and anxiety disorders.
Dr Sahota has a special interest in the assessment and management of mental disorders associated with violence and aggression in the community setting, for example domestic violence, abuse, aggression, sexual behaviour and fire setting.
Dr Sahota is an expert witness providing psychiatric reports to the courts and to tribunals, assessing mentally disordered offenders who come into contact with the criminal justice system and patients detained under the Mental Health Act.
Dr Sahota is passionate about a holistic approach to mental well being and he is a strong advocate of recovery approach to mental health.
