Dr Dimic currently combines her NHS work as Consultant Psychiatrist and private work at Psymplicity Healthcare.

Dr Dimic graduated in medicine and qualified as a Medical Doctor and Specialist in Psychiatry at the University of Belgrade, Serbia. Over the past sixteen years, she gained extensive and broad experience in all aspects of the specialty, treating patients who varied greatly in their clinical presentation and working in inpatient, outpatient and community settings. Dr Dimic completed psychotherapy training at the Tavistock Clinic in 2012, thus gaining a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist accreditation.

Dr Dimic also obtained post-graduate Master of Science research degree in Social Psychiatry at the University of Belgrade, Serbia. She has continued to participate in research studies, mostly coordinated by the Unit for Social and Community Psychiatry, Bart's and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry. The focus of her research has been psychological consequences of war and non-verbal communication in patients with psychotic illness. She has published in peer review journals.

Over the years Dr Dimic has developed teaching experience in a number of different areas, which include supervision of training and non-training fully qualified medical doctors, teaching medical undergraduates and other mental health professionals.

Dr Dimic’s therapeutic approach is holistic and patient centred. It is best suited to those who are open to be reflective and curious about themselves and their relationship with others.

Daily Psychiatry Quote

Attention describes the process of perceiving internal or external stimuli and data. We require a narrow or broad focus of attention depending on the type of task we are carrying out. For example when thinking strategically or being creative, focusing on the wider picture means we gather a larger amount of data with which to shape our thoughts and intuitions. In this mode we connect different ideas and concepts, identify patterns and generally experience a flow of thoughts, feelings and ideas.
